To provide principals with information on
how to create an attendance message and other important Connect-ED
information.
- Connect-ED is the communications system by
which schools and the District may inform parents and employees about
important news in the District and in each school. Connect-ED is a
service of Notification Technologies Inc. (NTI).
- Best practice suggests that community
outreach and single survey messages to all parents in a school should be
limited to two calls per month.
- Schools must create their own attendance message.
Attached are step-by-step instructions for creating an attendance
message.
- Please do not select contacts or
schedule delivery when creating your school’s attendance message. Once
created, your attendance message will be saved in the system and sent
automatically by NTI to the contacts identified in your daily attendance
reports. (With all other
messages you must select your contacts and schedule delivery of the
message.)
- My Voice, Text-to-Speech and Blend It are
three ways to send a message.
- In My Voice allows you to put a warm
personal touch to your message. Text-to Speech delivers a simple message
with specific information delivered by a computerized voice. Blend It
adds the warmth of a personal greeting with specific
information.
- For general Connect-Ed questions, contact
the Office of Public Relations at 305-995-1126.
- For technical questions, contact the
client care representative identified at the top right corner of the
Notification Technologies, Inc. home page when you sign in with your
user ID and password or call the Connect-ED 24-hour help desk line at
866-HELP-NTI (435-7684).
- REMINDER: In order to comply
with parents to receive automated (Connect-ED) messages in a specific
language, the Office of Information Technology Services has created a
special field in ISIS on the Parent Information
screen called “Home Calling.” If a parent of your school wishes
to receive automated messages in a language different from the language
currently listed in the “Primary-Home” field, you may change the
language on the “Home Calling” field to the parent’s preferred calling
language.
